New journeys

I have been home from Africa and India for 8 months and I am itching to board a jet for my next adventure. In September I get my wish.  I will be heading to England for a week. It is going to be an exciting and rewarding week as I will be serving with a few Pinelake members. My heart is overjoyed because I get to spend the week with CL, Kirsten, Eva, and Selah. It is hard and absolutely no fun being away from my precious kids; however, I know they are called to India. Every parent wants their child to follow their dreams. In my case, I want CL to follow the call on his life.

So while we are in England we will be staying in Lydney. Lydney is on the English/Welsh border. The countryside is beautiful and will provide a setting for rest and relaxation. The last two days will be spent in London. The last time I was in London (other than Heathrow International) I was 19 years old. I remember the feeling and excitement like it was yesterday. I can't wait to again see Big Ben, Parliament, the Tower of London, the London Eye, and all the other famous landmarks.

One of my favorite trips was CL's junior year  in college. We spent 10 days in Italy and Spain. It was special because I knew he was planning to propose to Kirsten and I knew they would be living overseas at some point. It was a great mother/son trip that I will cherish for a lifetime. But, there were even greater adventures in the future. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would travel to Africa and then live in India for almost 2 months. It was an experience that made a lasting impression on my life.

After returning from England, I have about 6 months to prepare for another life changing experience. In March I am visiting Israel and Jordan. To walk where Jesus walked is unbelievable. I have started reading several books on the Holy Land. In the Steps of Jesus has helped me understand what I will experience. I am referencing scripture as I read. I want this trip to be more than a travel experience. Looking for new/better understanding of the Bible and the Savior.

In 1967, my great aunt and uncle took a trip to the Holy Land. They brought me a beautiful mother of pearl Bible which I still have. Who knew that 46 years later I would have the opportunity to take a similar journey.

So I will be wandering the world again soon. Enjoy the journey with me as I will be blogging as often as possible.
